ABSTRACT
Sexually transmitted infections have been on the increase among young adults. Many of the young adults have been incapacitated one way or the other by such infections. In recent times, many young adults have lost their lives as a result of the devastating effects of sexually transmitted infections. Most of them fall victims due to negligence and majority due to ignorance. Sexuality education, if properly implemented could be a rallying force to reducing the menace of sexually transmitted infections on the teeming population of the young adults. This paper therefore takes a look at sexuality education as a panacea to preventing sexually transmitted infections among young adults in Nigeria. It highlighted the cultural belief of the people on sexual issues, the objectives of sexuality education and the benefits derivable from effective sexuality education. Conclusion was drawn and recommendations were advanced among which is that sexuality education should be inculcated in the school syllabus in the various stages of the Nigeria education system and out-of-school programmes in sexuality education should be designed and thoroughly implemented for the teeming out-of-school teenagers and youths.

ABSTRACT
The study specifically explored the interconnectedness of heritage language use and speakers' identity in Yorùbá-speaking region of South-Western Nigeria with a view to answer questions as to what factors are responsible for the shift or death of the speech forms in Àkókó? The researcher used the ‘reversing language shift theory’ by Fishman (1991) as a framework to propose a checkmate to the extinction and the gradual shift the Àkókó language is experiencing. Qualitative research design was adopted while personal interviews was used for data collection. The findings indicate that learning Àkókó language through courses, books, and tapes helps. There are also affective aspects, which influence how successful one is in acquiring a second language, such as personality, motivation, and whether it is a priority for the learner to be able to move to another level in German culture. This research has also discovered that globalization, education, and modernizations are the major threat to minority languages despite the fact that local populations have somewhat gained from language shift and that language endangerment or extinction takes place under ‘peaceful conditions, through insidious process of assimilation’. The study therefore proposes the maintenance of the Àkókó language being a minority language in Nigeria, looking at the fact that the languages are endangered which will lead these languages into extinction in the process of time.

ABSTRACT
The study determined the Nature and Methodology of Africa Science; identified the similarities and differences between Western and African Science; assessed the Yorùbá folk science and characteristics; and identified how Yorùbá folk science could be useful to contemporary philosophy of science. This is with a view to established the absolute and relative presupposition of Yorùbá folk science with a view to systematizing them into patterns of intelligibility that will facilitate their being susceptible to rigorous critical analysis and rational evaluation. The research study adopted a qualitative methodology. Data were collected through interviews and relevant literary text on Yorùbá culture and Yorùbá folk science. The population is Nigeria and Benin republic with the focus of obtaining data on Yorùbá folk science particularly in the Southwestern of Nigeria. The study discovered that, unlike in western science which attempt to understand nature is solely limited to empirical facts and observation, Yorùbá science transcend the realm of the physical to the non-empirical as it attempts to understand not only the physical reality that surround the Yorùbás but also with the non-physical realm. The study also discovered that Yorùbá folk science has some basic ideologies and practices which actually calls for critical questioning and which is capable of forming a new terrain of inquiries in contemporary philosophy of science. The study came to the conclusion that Yorùbá folk amidst other Africa culture have a science which is rich and knowledge embedded just like that of the western science. Contrary to the view held that Yorùbá science is absolutely mystical and irrational, the study finds out that Yorùbá science although it deals with both physical and non-physical realities yet it is empirical and also promise solutions and understanding of the realities that surround man.

ABSTRACT
The integration of ICT in teaching-learning process is basically latest phenomenon in all country’s education system. There is universal recognition of the need to use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education as we enter the era of globalization where the free flow of information via satellite and the internet hold sway in global information dissemination of knowledge. Already, Kogi State and Nigeria at large is on the other side of the international digital divide, as it has not made significant effort to integrate ICT into secondary school curriculum. Although the crux of the matter is that integration of ICT is loaded with worries or challenges in most developing countries. The challenges become a stumbling block in their desire to integrate ict in classrooms. Although the use of ICT in the teaching-learning processes can lead to improved student learning and better teaching methods; this may not be true if the teachers or the students themselves are not ready for this integration of ICT. This paper, therefore, examines the factors affecting the integration of ICT in secondary education in Kogi State. It identifies Personal characteristics, Teachers’ attitudes, Teacher-Student ratio, and Technical support. Suggestions for improvement were offered. The methodology used in this paper work is library research method..
Key Words: ICT integration, information and communication technologies, personal, institutional and technological factors

ABSTRACT
Well planned performance appraisal and ranking of staff to promotion is important in tactical human resource management. The methods available for evaluation of academic staff in colleges of education in Nigeria are based on crisp data in the form of rigid boundaries and for any uncertainty this evaluation has limitations. In evaluating academic staff there are several criterions which can contribute on performance evaluation in the form of linguistic terms. Fuzzy expert system was proposed on the basis of multi inputs as required by the institution in ranking the quality of academic staff performance. The proposed method introduces fuzzification of crisp data which depends on the extreme value that exist in the data. The suitability of the model is for evaluating academic staff on number of input variables, vagueness and imprecise information in the data.

ABSTRACT
There has never been anything as important to human existence as that of good health, which seems threatened by the myriads of pollution surrounding the earth’s surroundings. But worse among these within the Nigerian environment is air pollution. The aim of this paper is to find out the connection between good health and air pollution reduction and see how healthy living can be promoted when air pollution is reduced in Nigerian environments. Major causes of air pollution and their effects were examined, both in the rural and urban environments to see if there has been changes from what was obtainable over time. Contact and interaction with rural and urban dwellers were made, to ascertain if there has been any change or deviation from the sources and effects of air pollution. However, it was revealed that there haven’t been any significant changes in the way by which people of the rural and urban settlements pollutes the air. The practices of bush burning, indiscriminate spraying of some chemicals, industrial activities, Carbon generation from vehicular movements etc. remains the major sources of air pollution. The problems of respiratory infections, cancer of the lungs and other negative effects of air of pollution to people and the environment are still what the rural and urban dwellers are dealing with on daily basis. The paper concluded by suggesting how pollution could be mitigated to protect earth’s flora and fauna by recommending veritable steps for a better environment for every living thing such as substituting the use of firewood as cooking equipment for gas or electric stoves and boosting public transportation by reducing the rate at which individual uses motor vehicles, that is, the use of public transport instead of traveling alone in a car.

ABSTRACT
In communication networks, such as Ethernet or packet radio, throughput or network throughput is the average rate of successful message delivered over a communication channel. This data may be delivered over a physical or logical link, or pass through a certain network node. The goal of most computing operations is better or improved throughput and concerns are mostly about how many floating point operations can be extracted from the computing environment per week rather than the number of such operations the environment can provide per week. High Throughput Computing (HTC) is used to describe a situation where a large amount of computational power is delivered over a long period of time. This paper focuses on mechanisms, challenges and security of High Throughput Computing. The paper also drew distinction between High Throughput Computing (HTC), High Performance Computing (HPC) and Many Task Computing (MTC).
